June 29th: A day of service and connection

June 29

The day began with another hearty breakfast before our team divided to continue the ministry projects that God had placed before us.

One group continued working on the comedor, making steady progress on the construction, while another team traveled to the colonia to distribute despensas and spend time ministering to the families in the community. It was another opportunity to share God's love through both practical assistance and personal interaction.

Later in the day, we welcomed a visit from Roseta, who brought many of the handmade and local items she sells, including her well-known vanilla. It was enjoyable to browse her collection and support her work while bringing home meaningful reminders of our time in Mexico.

That evening, we were blessed to attend a special church service. The children delighted everyone with several beautifully choreographed dances and a short skit that reflected their joy and excitement. Their enthusiasm and willingness to serve the Lord through their talents was a blessing to witness.

Jonathan concluded the service with a powerful message centered on God's question to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden: "Where are you?" He reminded us that when we sin, our natural tendency is to hide from God out of guilt and shame. Yet God's desire is not for us to run away, but to run toward Him. His message challenged each of us to stop hiding and instead run to the Father, whose love, grace, and forgiveness are always available. It was a timely and impactful reminder that no matter where we are or what we have done, God is always calling us back into His presence.

The day ended with grateful hearts as we reflected on the progress made through service, the relationships strengthened through ministry, and the powerful reminder that our Heavenly Father is always waiting with open arms for His children.

Working on the Comador, fixing the water issue and serving in the community

June 29th was a day of dedicated work, beginning with our team contributing to the Comador project. Simultaneously, we extended our ministry into the colonia, distributing essential dispensas and hygiene kits to those in need. This hands-on service allowed us to demonstrate Christ's love in tangible ways, addressing both immediate practical needs and fostering community well-being.

Sharing talents and love at Resplandor de Vida

A significant highlight of our day was sharing our talents and love with the staff and children at Resplandor de Vida Children's Home. These moments were filled with laughter, learning, and mutual encouragement, strengthening the bonds between us. It was a beautiful expression of our commitment to minister to these precious lives, offering support and spreading joy.

The profound impact of mutual ministry

The core mission of Mexico 2026 is deeply intertwined with days like June 29th. The love of the children and staff at Resplandor de Vida ministered to us just as much as we ministered to them. These reciprocal experiences of love and connection are at the heart of living out Christ's example—serving with humility and building bridges of faith that reflect God’s Kingdom on earth.
